Joachim was born in Vlastislav in February 1814, six years after his brother Jakob. He grew up in Vlastislav, but was not trained as a butcher. He is recorded as being a glass maker and a shop keeper. At the age of 35, he married Magdalena Schutz, she was 31 and was known as Marie, on the 14th August 1847. Her parents, Joachim and Rosalia lived in Třebivlice in house no 37 and also ran a shop. There is no obvious reason why they were married at such ages, perhaps the rules of the Familianten were still being enforced and this made it so difficult. They moved into house no 19 in Vlastilsav where their children were born, Moritz first in 1854, Emanuel, Bertha, Anna and Albertina followed over the next nine years.
We know that after Jakob’s death in 1870, they eventually moved to Litoměřice where Emanuel and Albertina were living with their wife and husband respectively. We also know that Moritz owned a store in Litoměřice.
