Place

Široké Třebčice (Bohemia)

Jews lived in the village from the early 17th Century and slowly over the following decades several more families moved into the village. The Jewish quarter took up the entire northern part of the village next to the small stream that flowed through the middle of the village. This small ghetto consisted of several blocks of houses divided by narrow streets. In the centre of the ghetto there was a small synagogue. The Jewish Cemetery is situated approximately 500 yards to the East on a steep hillside next to the stream. A low level crumbling wall surrounds the cemetery, which is very overgrown with thistles and long grass.
